Radio Showcase

Bournemouth University has been producing award winning radio students for the past ten years, over 14 of our students have won awards at the Student Radio Awards over the last ten years, seven of which achieving a top Gold Award.

Below are a few examples that we believe highlight the creativity, drive and ambition of our radio students and graduates, all of which were developed and streamed through our internet radio station BIRSt.

Winter Swimming

A short piece by current student Marie Bosworth. It follows members of the Life Buoys swimming club, a group of men that swim all year round in the ponds on Hampstead Heath.

Three Years in Heaven

Award winning story by Selina Williams, of one mans days through the messages left on his answer machine.

Pukes (Poole Ukuleles)

This tells the tale of the Ukuele and its revival into mainstream music. Written and produced by Jo Curtis.

Love Is

An experimental soundscape rollercoaster ride around the emotion Love by Hannah Rolfe.
